- Ingredients:
250g oats 175g brown sugar 175g butter 4tbsp golden syrup
Preheat the oven to 160°C (140°C if it is a fan oven). Melt the butter and add the sugar and golden syrup (if you wish to add apples or spices(such as cinnamon or nutmeg) you should put them in now (for apples, allow the surface to caramelize)). Add the oats and mix. Line a baking tray with baking paper and place the flapjack mixture on. Spread it out evenly to the edges and place in the oven for 30 or 40 minutes or until golden and firm. Leave to cool and cut up.
